At Dragon Studio Solutions, we're proud to have partnered with the BBC to deliver a streamlined, high-performance video studio inside the iconic ABC building in Ultimo, Sydney. Designed for simplicity, flexibility, and broadcast-level quality, this compact studio space was purpose-built to support BBC's evolving content creation needs.

The Brief

The BBC required a versatile video production space that could seamlessly handle green screen filming and interviews, while also offering flexible lighting and background options. The studio needed to be clean, easy to use, and suitable for quick turnarounds without sacrificing professional results.

The Build

We transformed a standard office room into a fully equipped green screen studio featuring:

Lighting

Track-Mounted LED Lighting:
4 × 1.5m LightPro Powered Tracks
10 × LightPro 40B Variable Colour LED Lights
Controlled via LightPro Remote and 15V AC Adaptor system

Key Lighting:
2 × LightPro 150B Bicolor Rollable Flex-lites (DMX-compatible)
Ideal for soft key and fill lighting on subjects

Backdrop System

3-Roll Hook Expan System:

Seamless switching between green, white, and dove grey backgrounds

Superior Arctic White 2.72m x 11m

Weighted with 3 × Manfrotto 062-3 Counterweights for smooth operation

The Result

The finished studio is a clean, user-friendly environment tailored for on-demand production. With remote-controlled lighting, a smooth expan background system, and versatile LED key lights, the BBC team can easily film high-quality content without requiring a large crew or complicated setup.
