Dragon Studio Solutions
Newington College
Teaching Studio
The Brief
Newington College, one of Sydney's leading independent boys' schools, needed a purpose-built media studio to support its film, television, and media arts curriculum. The studio had to function as both a teaching environment and a fully operational production space — capable of handling live production switching, chromakey, photography, and livestreaming, with equipment that reflects industry-standard workflows.
The Build
Dragon Studio Solutions designed and installed a U-shaped white cyclorama studio with a LightPro pantograph kit and ceiling grid lighting system, motorised background system, and a Blackmagic ATEM ME1 video mixing kit. The ATEM ME1 is a professional broadcast switcher that allows students to cut between multiple camera sources, add graphics, and manage live production in real time — the same workflow used in broadcast television. The pantograph ceiling track keeps the studio floor completely clear while giving precise control over light positioning.
