The Brief

PropertyMe needed to get more value out of a small studio space in their Sydney CBD office. The room was used once a month to film "The Loop," their product-release live stream, with three lights and six iPhone-on-gimbal rigs all set up on tripods. Outside of the monthly stream, the tripod rig meant the room sat unused as dead space. PropertyMe wanted to ceiling-mount the entire live stream setup so the room could double as a meeting room between shoots, without sacrificing any of the production quality of "The Loop."

The Build

Dragon Studio Solutions installed a ceiling-mounted pantograph track system, giving PropertyMe six pantographs across a dual ceiling track to carry their existing lighting and camera gimbal rig overhead. Custom camera mounts were engineered to let each iPhone-and-gimbal rig hang cleanly from a single pantograph without wobble during filming, even with the gimbal in motion. The result is a fully retractable production rig: everything raises out of the way after each stream, and the room reverts to a standard meeting space with a table and chairs, ready for its next use.

The Outcome

PropertyMe's studio now works twice as hard. "The Loop" live stream runs from the same ceiling-mounted rig every month, and for the rest of the time the room functions as a normal meeting space with unobstructed views over the Sydney CBD. The team no longer has to choose between a dedicated studio and usable office space — the ceiling track system gives them both.
