Corporate Hybrid Studio Build

Dragon Studio Solutions recently completed a high-performance studio for Services, designed to support internal communications, live streaming, and broadcast-style content creation across a hybrid workforce.

Originally scoped as a flexible streaming, recording, and media presentation space, the project evolved to include a large-format LED wall, transforming the studio into a truly future-ready production environment.

The Brief

They required a multi-purpose studio that could:

• Deliver live-streamed content to staff across multiple locations

• Support pre-recorded interviews and video content

• Function as a media announcement space with broadcast-quality lighting

• Allow for minimal setup time and ease of use

The goal was to create a space that was both technically capable and simple to operate, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of users.

The Solution

Lighting & Truss Infrastructure

We installed a professional lighting system supported by a truss structure, allowing for flexible positioning and consistent, broadcast-quality illumination. The system includes a combination of:

• High-output LED panels

• Large-format soft lighting for flattering key light

• DMX-controlled lighting for easy scene management

This ensures the space can adapt quickly between different use cases—from interviews to press announcements.

Acoustic Curtain System

To manage sound within the large space, we installed acoustic wool curtains, improving clarity for both live and recorded audio. These curtains also double as a flexible visual background, allowing the studio to be reconfigured depending on the content being produced.

Motorised Background System

A 4-hook motorised background system provides multiple backdrop options at the push of a button. This allows the team to quickly switch between looks for different types of content without interrupting workflow.

LED Wall Integration (Key Upgrade)

One of the most significant upgrades to the original design was the addition of a large LED wall, turning the studio into a dynamic broadcast environment.

This addition enables:

• Branded digital backdrops

• Presentation graphics and data visualisation

• Virtual environments without the need for green screen

• A more engaging, modern look for internal and external communications

The LED wall significantly enhances the studio’s versatility, allowing Service NSW to produce content that feels current, engaging, and highly professional.

Ease of Use & Workflow

A key focus of the project was simplicity. The studio is designed so users can:

• Walk in and begin recording with minimal setup

• Use pre-configured lighting scenes

• Switch backgrounds quickly

• Produce consistent results regardless of technical experience

This aligns with Service NSW’s goal of making content creation accessible across teams.
