The Brief

Somerset College, an independent school on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, needed a professional film and TV studio for their art department. The brief required industry-standard ceiling-mounted lighting that students and teachers could reposition and control independently — removing the clutter and safety concerns of floor-based stands in an active art and media environment.

The Build

Dragon Studio Solutions installed a high-end art department studio featuring remote-controlled soft studio LED lighting with RGB capability and ceiling-mounted pantographs on a track system. The pantograph system allows lights to be raised, lowered, and repositioned along the ceiling track — giving the art department full flexibility over lighting direction and intensity without occupying any floor space. RGB capability supports both creative colour work and standard chromakey green screen production. Podcasting infrastructure was also installed to support audio content production.
