Transport NSW Training Rooms

The Brief

Transport NSW needed professional lighting across six rooms at three Sydney locations: a virtual classroom at Petersham, a media room at 680 George St, and four rooms at 7 Harvest Street Macquarie Park — comprising two webisode rooms and two virtual classrooms. The goal was consistent, non-distracting illumination that would make every presenter look polished on camera, with results that matched across all rooms and all sessions.

The Build

Dragon Studio Solutions installed LightPro StudioLine 1200XL bi-colour LED strip lights across all six rooms. The 1200XL is a 95cm slim-profile strip light with heavily diffused output — producing soft, even illumination across the shooting position without harsh shadows or hotspots. Bi-colour adjustment allows each room to be tuned between warm and daylight colour temperatures to suit different environments and camera setups. All lights were ceiling-mounted to keep rooms clean and functional for their primary use as training and meeting spaces.

The Outcome

Transport NSW presenters and facilitators now appear in consistently well-lit, professional video environments across all six rooms and three locations. The matching light output across every room means training content looks cohesive regardless of where it is recorded — an important consideration for a government agency producing high volumes of internal training and communication video.
